Ron has no obligation to trust him after everything Gill's done, but writing wise it could be interesting showing a slow progression of trust be made over time once Gill starts to do things deserving of that for no reason other than his own choice. Hence why I thought the idea of him becoming a redeemed villain would be interesting since really, he's the only villain of Kim Possible that's around their age (unless you count Senor Senior Junior but tbh I've always thought of him as a few years older than them) and could grow with the right environment.

Tldr, looking at Gill from a different perspective made him a far more interesting character for me. He effectively relapsed and was trying to make other people mutate along with him, to see how much better it was rather than just revenge like before. Honestly, I doubt he got proper mental therapy about all that, otherwise the people looking out for him by that point (again, CLEARLY not his parents, likely just Dr Lurkin) wouldn't have let him travel back to Camp Wannaweep without supervision. Being cured and being pushed into living a normal life after everything wasn't really an option for him. Why else did he latch onto a memory of a kid he picked on and plan a revenge plot against him? Gil, or rather Gill needed someone to blame, and that someone became Ron (or "Ronny").Įven when Gill is rehabilitated and cured, we learnt that his trauma had effectively evolved beyond hatred- he RELIED on his mutation after having it for years. CLEARLY lacking parental love, and having to survive all on his own, latching onto anything and everything he had before to get by. The camp shut down, likely because of Gil's mutation and the kid was left behind to fend for himself for YEARS. Let's put it through this lens- Gil Moss was a child who teased Ron for "being a dweeb" and loved to swim in the (unbeknownst to them) toxic lake constantly, to the point of becoming a mutant fish monster.

They both suffered and flourished in respective ways, and in terms of show canon, are the only two people who understand each other when they talk about the camp, since they've both been through it. I like him a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid, though that's largely due to the fact as an adult I started to ask a lot more questions lol I really do think the dynamic between Ron and Gill is interesting since they share trauma of Camp Wannaweep but in two very different ways. (dang a lot of KP asks lately huh dfjkfd) What are your thoughts on gill from Kim possible
